Darkroom
The darkroom offers a space to develop analog film and photographic prints using traditional techniques.

If you’re new to the craft but eager to learn the art of developing your own film, keep an eye out for the skilled volunteers who run the darkroom and soon will be hosting workshops – for contact and/or info, join UKH on Discord – and look out for the channels ‘Darkroom and Photo’.

Access
Free access for all with experience. Ongoing workshops are held for those who do not yet have experience.
Booking
You can book in 4-hour intervals (anytime during opening hours) or 6 hours spread over two days. Booking is done in person at the door to the darkroom – but it is often available, so feel free to just show up and check.
Prices and payment
Rent/use of the darkroom for 4 hours costs 60 DKK.
Rent/use of the darkroom for 6 hours spread over two days costs 100 DKK.
Payment is made upon arrival via MobilePay: 818268
We offer film at 50 DKK per roll (Fomapan) and 80 DKK per roll (Ilford).
Importants!
The darkroom and photo studio cannot be booked simultaneously, as they are located in the same room.
All materials are included in the price for renting/using the darkroom – chemicals, paper, etc. (everything except film).
Please clean up after yourself! The room should be at least as tidy when you finish as when you received it.
Remember to keep an eye on the chemical calendar and update it after your visit (it hangs on the wall above the sink) to avoid unnecessary chemical use.

Wanna exhibit your artwork?
You can exhibit your art at UKH at any time. If you need a venue for an opening reception, you can contact Malene or another staff member to learn more. You’re also always welcome to stop by and chat with us about your opportunities in the house.
